What is The P&J 275 Community Fund?
As part of its 275 anniversary celebrations, The Press and Journal has launched The P&J 275 Community Fund. The Community Fund will help to celebrate and support the work of local charities transforming the north and north-east.
Chosen P&J Charity Partners will receive a minimum of £10,000 in 2024 to help them carry out important work.
Four P&J Charity Partners will be voted for by public vote. The P&J’s fifth Charity Partner is Scotland’s Air Ambulance Charity (SCAA), which has been supported by The P&J since 2019.
The P&J will be fundraising throughout 2024 with a number of initiatives being organised to raise funds for the Charity Partners, including The P&J 275 Charity Gala which will be held on February 2 at P&J Live in Aberdeen.
How will the P&J Charity Partners be selected?
The P&J readers will be able to vote for their chosen charities when the public vote opens on Wednesday November 1.
Four articles – one for each category - will go live on that day, each containing charity spotlight profiles and a voting form.
A pull-out magazine - including the charity spotlight profiles and QR codes for voting forms – will be published in The Press and Journal, also on November 1.
As stated in the T&Cs, each charity will be categorised into one of four categories; Aberdeen/Aberdeenshire large charities, Aberdeen/Aberdeenshire small to medium, Highlands, Islands and Moray large and Highlands, Islands and Moray small to medium.
How long do people have to submit their votes?
Voting will close on Wednesday November 15. Voters can still submit votes on November 15 until 11.59pm.
What is The P&J 275 Charity Gala and how is it connected to the Community Fund?
The P&J 275 Charity Gala is a new event which has been launched by The Press and Journal, taking place on February 2 2024 at P&J Live in Aberdeen.
The Charity Gala will fundraise for the P&J 275 Community Fund. Any funds raised will help to support the P&J Charity Partners.
