Sunhoney Recorder Prize

Hello everyone! Sorry we have been a bit quiet on the blog lately but do not worry, preparations are well underway for this year’s festival and our syllabus is now available in printed version (by contacting the festival) and on our website. Remember that your entries need to be in by no later than Mach 22nd. Those of you who have had time to look through the syllabus may have noticed some new things for the festival this year, one of which is the new “Sunhoney” Prize for Recorder players of age 12 and under.  I am sure we can all agree that Aberdeen’s Festival of Music, Speech and Drama is a fantastic week. The festival showcases some of the most talented individuals and groups in the North East, as well as allowing performers to develop skills and confidence by gaining a professional adjudication. It is with our belief in the value of the performing arts that we are continually looking for ways to allow our community to engage with the festival year-round.   This year we have decided to offer a mini, monthly concert at Mannofield Church in order to provide a platform for a range of performers from across the city.
