UPDATE: PLANS FOR FESTIVAL WEEK

Thanks to Alex and Gayle, we are going to be able to allow each entrant in a class to hear the videos of fellow performers.  The Festival will host each session as a Zoom meeting, performers will be given links to the meeting and an approximate time for their class to start.  They may join the meeting (session) before their class starts, and they may share the link with parents/teachers/supporters. The adjudicators will prepare written feedback and speak to the performers at the end of the class, and if relevant announce a winner and award a prize. New for 2020: Tell a Joke

Last extra competition for festival week.  Help us celebrate the dry humour of the North East of Scotland.  Since we can't have our new standup and tell a joke class, we are opening up this idea for emailed submissions.  It is something for everyone at home to get involved with.  Family friendly humour only please. Entries will be displayed on festival website in due course (translations will be available for anyone who needs them!!) We are delighted that Mary Dey, teacher of Scottish Literature at Mackie Academy, has kindly agreed to Judge. Entries please by Wednesday 3rd June to: info@nespa.scot

Competition 2: Photographing the Performing Arts - Class B

Calling all photographers for this one-off addition to the festival for 2020.  We are looking for an image to celebrate literature and drama in this time of lockdown.  The competition is open to all, no age limit, and will be judged in 3 age categories: Primary school age Secondary school age Age 18 and above Some guidelines:  The image should be- a jpeg in colour or black & white-  your own work-  taken within the last six months, or state if earlier than that-  so-far unpublished (social media excluded).-  particularly for the adult age group, entrants are encouraged to give the image a title, and a brief description of the circumstances in which it was taken.
